The bull shark lives in areas all throughout the world from warm oceans to fresh water rivers ans streams. Interestingly, the bull shark is the only shark that can live in both salt and fresh water for extended periods of time, which has enabled these sharks to travel throughout the Amazon River system and actually swim up the Mississippi River to St. Louis.The shark can be found at depths up to 500ft, but it usually stays within 100ft of the surface and can be commonly found in waters that are waste deep. Estuaries, streams, and salt or fresh water lakes are typical environments that the bull shark can live in.
